There are fun and exciting activities that you can do with your RC car in the first few weeks of having it in your possession: changing the case, buying accessories, and practicing to control it with your friends. But there will really by burn-out days with your remote control car, and you simply get bored with it!
“What else to do?” you might say but what you don’t know is there’s still more to a regular rc car than meets the eye. Just a few adjustments and practice, then boom! You can make your remote contro car jump! The best thing is, I’m not exaggerating.
I did it with my own RC car few months back and it really did flip over high enough to achieve a jaw-dropping performance. I didn’t expect it can jump like that either.
So how to do it? Construct a miniramp!
Building a miniramp can brush of your RC boredome. This is an important tool to have if you want to practice rc car jumps. The size of the board depends on you, but it is preferable to consider the size of your car. The height of the ramp must be relative to the size of the car, so as not to damage any part because of excessive jumps.
There are two kinds of miniramps which are both perfect for any rc car. First, is a wooden miniramp which is quite simple to build and more common in homes and other for-private use. See the video below for the instruction:
The second one is the less popular, less durable, but more eco friendly. This is perfect for unexpected meet-ups with fellow rc car friends and you don’t have an available ramp to use. All you need is a closed box, a tape, and scissors.
Assuming you already have a ramp, all you need to do now is to practice.
The first thing you have to bear in mind is the amount of speed your remote control car should give for jumping success. If the speed is weak from the start, expect it to run backward as soon as it arrives at the curve part of the ramp.
Second, put a safety foam or any material that can safely catch the vehicle as it lands at the back of the miniramp. This is a must for first timers because they might apply too much speed to the vehicle and it may not land as expected. Eventually, you can remove this foam if you already feel confident about your skills.
You can do more things with ramp, and you can even invite your friends for some jumping party at your very backyard. Well, looks like RC cars is not a boring hobby at all.
